H.E. Farook Abdulqadir Abdulrahman was appointed as a Minister of Telecommunications in Iraq in 2008. He has a BSC in Civil Engineering from the University of Mousul-Iraq and in 2003 was elected as a chairmen of the Engineering Council and an expert in the Iraqi Ministry of Reconstruction. He was also appointed as an advisor in the Advisory Commission in the Iraqi Prime Minister’s office for Services and Reconstruction.

H.E. Mohammed Tawfik Allawi, Former Minister of Communications, Member of Parliament, Iraqi Parliament

Between 1971 and 1977 Excellency Allawi studied Architectural Engineering at Baghdad University but was forced to leave in the fifth year due to being wanted by the previous regime. In 1980 he obtained a BSc in Architecture (Distinction) from the American University of Beirut. Between 1972 and 1997 he was involved in the establishment and subsequent administration of the Tawfiq Allawi Cable & Electric Wire Factory until its confiscation by the previous regime in 1997. He was a founding member of the following manufacturing factories in Iraq: marble and mosaic, concrete block, PVC pellet, plastic mould, PVC pipes, leather tanning. These were managed from the offices of Tawfiq Allawi in Iraq, Lebanon and the UK. In the UK, he was founder of a cereal bar factory (Lyme Regis, UK) and of 1st Call Company (Brighton, UK) – a software company making education programmes. The programmes were for use by the British government in anti-drugs campaigning in schools throughout the UK. In Lebanon, he worked in the field of construction in both the UK and Lebanon, focusing on the establishment of infrastructure (water, electricity, road networks, lighting etc.) in Al-Shifa Land near Al-Jiyah (Lebanon). He also worked in the design and construction of residential buildings in Al-Jiyah (Lebanon). Internationally, he has worked in trade between the EU and East Africa, the Middle-East, China, and Australia.

His Excellency is an active member of Interfaith International (Geneva, Switzerland) – an NGO with consultative status with the UN through ECOSOC. He is an executive member of Kosovo Appeal, a charity working in defence of human rights abuses in Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania during the period of ethnic cleansing in Yugoslavia. He is an executive member of Wabil for Human Rights. His political activities include opposition to the dictator from the early 1970s. He participated in most opposition conferences, from the Salah Al-Din Conference in 1992 to the London Conference 2002. He is also the author of studies and articles in various papers, magazines and journals. He was elected MP in the January 2005 elections and was appointed as Minister of Communications in the first full-term government headed up by PM Nuri Al-Maliki in May 2006. After leaving the Ministry of Communications, he is now back at the Iraqi Parliament to serve as an MP.

Kassim Al Hassani, Director General of Iraqi Telecommunications and Post Company, Ministry of Communications

Director General for ITPC (Iraqi Telecommunications & Post Company). Before this Kassim was Basrah Telecom Manager for over a year. Hehas previous experience in the field of Communication and Broadcasting as a consultant for BT cellnet, Cable and Wireless, T-Mobile, NTL and Ericsson also Systems Manager for Associated press Television (APTV), Reuters and Channel 5. He worked with top consultancy firms such as Cap Gemini, Deloitte & Touch and Hays Consulting for real time projects such as Ireland Election system (RTE), as well as electronics projects services, such as eShop and eGain for Cambridge county council. Kassim installed a large number of NewsRooms systems for Arabic Satellite Television Channels, such as JSC, Bahrain TV, Oman TV, Nile and Egypt channels during his time with Associated Press Television. He is qualified with a degree in Computer Studies and Information Systems and postgraduate in Telecommunication Regulation from Westminster University as well as MA in Communications policy.

 

Ali Al-Dahwi, Chief Executive Officer, Zain

Ali Al-Dahwi was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. Upon graduation from Baghdad College an American Jesuit High School in 1972, he left Iraq to enter the University of Texas at El Paso school of Engineering, majoring in Civil Engineering. He practiced Civil Engineering design with high ranking Civil Engineering Firms in Houston, Texas, and later in El Paso. Enjoying the use of computers and programming he moved to the high tech world in its early days. Joining Holguin Corporation one of the early leaders in Computer Aided Design and Drafting where he was a programmer specialising in Engineering design systems. With more experience and love to assist Accugraph a NASDAQ listed company to lead in its offerings internationally he joined the International department as an International Engineer, and later moved to lead the International Department, and became the Executive Vice President for International operations responsible for the entire world outside the United States. He was later asked to Join CambioTelynx a NASDAQ listed company specialising in Facility Management and Telecommunications. He worked diligently to ensure the success of their clients around the world.

He was asked to join mtc atheer as CEO after a short stop with Iraqna. After the 2007 permanent license mtc atheer acquired Iraqna and he saw one of the first of such integrations in Iraq and the area. Overcoming all the complexities of such integration from a technology to personnel issues, today Zain Iraq where Ali is the CEO enjoys the number one status in Revenue, Market share, and with that Zain is the largest business in Iraq. Zain Iraq is proud to have developed one of the best Cadres in Iraq in all fields. Ali is helping Zain be the first in introducing new technologies to the country.

Dr Hayam Alyasiri is the Minister of Communication`s Advisor for Mobile Communications., She worked as Minister Advisor since 2003 before this she worked as lecturer since 1991.

She has many published papers in consistent journals and she has participated in many local and International workshops and conferences.

Dr Hayam, has a BSc in Electrical Eng., MSc in Communications Eng./1996, PhD in Digital Communication Eng./2001, Post Doctoral in Wireless Communication Eng./2007).

Majeed Hameed Jassim,Director General for SCIS,                             
Ministry of Communications

Mr Majeed Hammed Jasim is the Director General for SCIS, State Company for Internet Services at the Iraq Ministry of Communications.

His previous work experience includes; working as the Manager of the Information Systems Centre for the Ministry of Housing and Construction from 2006 – early 2009. Before this he was the Head of the Communications and Network Department.

Mr Majeed speaks both English and Arabic and has a BSc in Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology in Iraq.

Dr Hameed Akrawi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer & Chief Technical Officer, Korek Telecom

Dr Hameed Akrawi was born in 1946 in Iraq/Agrah. He is one of the founders of Korek Telecom and has been a member of the board, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technical Officer of Korek Telecom Company since 2000.

Dr Akrawi graduated from the College of Engineering/Electrical Dept in Baghdad 1969, and went on to gain a MSc degree from University of Vienna, Austria in 1979. Dr Akwari also has a Phd in Electrical Engineering from University of Leuve in Belgium.

His past work includes working as the Minister of Transportation and Communications in the Kurdistan Regional Government from 1996 to 2000.
 


Zaid Safdar, Operations Officer, The World Bank

Zaid Safdar is an Operations Officer in the World Bank Group. He manages lending operations and advises governments on areas dealing with telecommunications, financial services, private sector development, and industrial development. He has advised governments in the Middle East on restructuring the communications sector, worked with governments in South Asia on modernising the financial services industry, and supervised the development of core communications infrastructure in the Middle East. Prior to the World Bank, Mr Safdar worked at the Brookings Institute, AT&T and Lucent Technologies Bell Laboratories. Mr Safdar has an MBA in corporate finance from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business; an MA in international economics from the Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies; an MS in engineering from University of Pennsylvania; and a BS in engineering from University of Rochester.

 

Jacky Sutton, Media Project Manager, UNDP Iraq

Ms Sutton has been working on convergent media regulatory and development issues in Iraq since January 2008, when she joined UNDP. Prior to this she was working on strategic communications and capacity building with the UN in post-conflict or transition countries in Central Asia (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and Turkmenistan), West Africa (Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone), East Africa (Eritrea, Somalia, Ethiopia) and the Middle East (Occupied Palestinian Territories). Ms Sutton’s professional background is in journalism and media development, but she has a Masters degree in Constitutional Law and is currently studying for an LLM in International Information Technology Law.

 

Dr Faris Al-Salihi, Independent Consultant

Dr Faris Al-Salihi is a Senior Expert and Consultant. He served as Chief Technology and Information Officer of Asiacell Communications LLC, the largest licenced national mobile operator in Iraq. He was responsible for managing the development, growth and operation, and a budget of $340 million. Prior to joining Asiacell he was the Senior Advisor and Deputy to the Chief Executive Officer of the Iraqi regulator, Communications and Media Commission (CMC). Here he was responsible for the development of the regulatory functions, such as capacity building, implementation of regulatory processes, managing the development and awards of the mobile and WLL licences, and development of the rules and procedures for Telecom and broadcast sectors. He was the liaison and coordinator between the CMC and Iraqi government, Iraqi Parliament, US military and foreign representatives in Baghdad.

In 2004 Dr Faris Al-Salihi was deployed in Iraq as the Senior Consultant and ICT Sector Lead for BearingPoint “Economic Governance II” project which was sponsored by USAID. He was Senior Advisor to: the Iraqi Minister of Communications and Advisor to the CEO of Iraqi regulatory commission (CMC).
From 1996 to 2005 Dr Faris Al-Salihi was the owner and CEO of a USA based, WATCO Consulting L.L.C. His company has successfully completed over 60 cellular network build outs in 5 continents.

Dr Faris Al-Salihi’s career has included 14 years of working in the United Kingdom, with elite international telecom operators such as: British Telecom Research Laboratories, British Telecom Cellular (Cellnet), Hutchison Orange Limited. He represented the UK in the GSM ETSI forums to develop the GSM technology standards for 5 years.

Dr Al-Salihi holds a BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a PhD in Electrical and Communications Engineering from The University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He also has two patents, numerous technical articles published in professional journals and is recognised by UK’s government Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) as an expert in the field of wireless and telecommunications.


Karwan Ridha Ahmed Al-Barazanchi, Technical Director General, Kurdistan Regional Government Ministry of Communications

Mr Al-Barazanchi was graduated 1981 from College of Engineering, University of Technology in Baghdad obtaining BSc in Engineering. In 1983 he worked as Communication and Power Engineer, later on, he was appointed as the Director of Communications in Sulaymaniya governorate to be promoted later to the position of Technical Director General in the same ministry, KRG Ministry of Communication.

During his employment, Mr Al-Barazanchi successfully completed different courses and supervised the implementation of different projects in the field of telecommunications, he was involved in reinstalling switches, microwave system, E-government and rebuilding the overall structure of the telecommunications infrastructure in Kurdistan Region.

He represented the KRG Ministry of Communications in the locally and internationally organised events.

 

Rear Admiral David G Simpson, Director, Communications and Information Systems (J6), Multinational Forces - Iraq, US Navy

Rear Admiral David G Simpson is a native of Burbank, Calif. He graduated with honors from the United States Naval Academy in 1982. He received his master’s degree in Space Systems Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.

Rear Admiral Simpson’s personal awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (6 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 Awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Copernicus Award for career achievement in (C4I).


Shwan Halkurd, Senior Consultant Communications & Information,            
US Embassy Baghdad

Shwan Halkurd is the Senior Advisor at US Embassy Economics. He received his Bachelor in Sciences in Communications and Information Technology from University of Phoenix and Digital Communications design from ITT Technical Institute. His advises the US Embassy on Iraq Telecommunications and Information technology development and policy. He has worked on many US Government telecommunications and information technology reconstruction projects in Iraq such as: Advance First responder Network AFRN, Wireless Broad Band Network WBBN, Video Conference and VOIP applications, Consolidated Fiber Network, PSTN switches, National Chief Information Officer training and E- government. Prior to Working for US Embassy, he worked in Silicon Valley in telecommunications and information technology network design implementation and deployment.

 

Ilkka Lakainiemi, Head of Global Policitcal Dialogue, Nokia Siemens Networks

Mr Ilkka Lakaniemi works for Nokia Siemens Networks in charge of Global Political Dialogue and Initiatives. He has worked for Nokia since 2000 in corporate strategy & foresight, marketing and corporate relations. His responsibilities include understanding the wider socio-economic impact of communications technologies and he co-operates with multinational institutions on the subject. Prior to Nokia, Mr Lakaniemi has worked for the University of California at Berkeley, the United Nations University and the Academy of Finland. He has studied at the University of Helsinki, Stanford University, the London School of Economics and the University of Edinburgh. He is a Visiting Professor at the Helsinki School of Economics.


Mohamad Abdul Malak, Vice President Sales Central Europe, Middle East & Africa, Ericsson

Mohamad Joined Ericsson (then Redback Networks) in 2008 to establish their business in the Middle East region, and after the establishment of PAIB he was selected as Vice President for the CEMA region to drive the business in this region.

He has 22 years of management experience in networking and telecoms including regional manager for Juniper Networks responsible for ME & Africa, and sales and consultant management roles for Cisco in North Africa and ME.

Mohamad holds a masters degree in computer engineering and telecommunications from Boston University USA


 Wilson Varghese, Chief Executive Officer, Kalimat

Wilson Varghese has attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Master in Business Administration from Cambridge University and is a certified Professional Contracts Manager in Federal Contracts Law (CPCM) from NCMC USA.

He has worked in many key positions within leading business houses in India and abroad. Mr Varghese joined Visionaire Corporation as the GM Middle East Operations. He went on to become the Director of Contracts and Operations for Trade Links in 1998, and was promoted to Vice President of Operations and Contracts in 2004.

In 2006, he was promoted to President of Trade Links based on the growth he had managed to achieve as Vice President of Contracts and operations. Under the leadership of Mr Varghese Trade Links has adopted a strategy of a diversified investment portfolio that enabled the group’s enhanced performance.

He was responsible for introducing the new Strategic Business Units; Trade Links Logistics WLL, Trade Links Aviation Ltd., Trade Links HVAC, Trade Links Power, Trade Links Engineering and finally KALIMAT Telecom Ltd. Currently Mr Varghese is holding the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Kalimat Telecom Ltd., Trade Links WLL, and Trade Links Aviation Ltd.

Mr Varghese has managed operations of more than $500 million (US) worth of US Government Contracts.

In addition, Mr Varghese is involved in social activities, held positions such as District Cabinet Secretary, Lions Club International, WWF, WPC, and a member of Who’s Who Historical Society.

 

 Laoy Almalaieka, Chief Executive Officer, Itisaluna

Born in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1969, Mr Al Malaieka has been in the international telecom business for some 17 years which have given him extensive experience in such vital area as investment evaluation, feasibility assessment, and program development, especially in areas of challenging work and security conditions. His motto for success under such conditions is to produce sustainable quality services through cross functional teamwork. The scope of his involvement in the Iraqi telecom market, both as Country Manager for Lucent Technologies and founder and CEO of Barqtel Communications (Iraq) has given him deep knowledge of the telecom prospects in this difficult, but extremely promising, part of the world. He is constantly driven by a strong belief in the telecom role in socio-cultural betterment and economic development and in the importance of quality service which, while always is a factor in business and market competition, should never fall short from being a moral commitment to consumers and society at large. Hence his proposal to fellow telecom executives to create a mechanism of coordination in the Iraqi telecom industry which, while respecting legitimate business competition, seeks to maintain constructive cooperation not only amongst private–sector companies, but also between these companies and government authorities.

He has benefitted from his experience in such telecom development and competence –building programs as the Telecommunication Training Centre which he set up and managed in Erbil, Kurdistan, as well as his work with CONCERT MANAGEMET, (a British Telecom and AT&T Joint Venture) for strategic alliance programme and planning, and with LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES as Network Engineer, International Business Development Manager and Global Alliance Team Manager, which brought him considerable recognition and several awards.


Omar Barzanji, Chief Executive Officer, Technology Partners

A 24-year telecommunications and Internet veteran, Omar is a native of Baghdad who finished high school at the Mansoor Private School. He graduated with BSc Honours in Biomedical Electronics at the University of Salford, England, and obtained his graduate degree in Business and Management from the University of California, Anderson Business School in Los Angeles.

Omar has spent the last 24 years between Silicon Valley and Dubai in various roles in engineering, sales and management at several startups and global US companies including Biocom, Cisco Systems, Wellfleet Communications, Bay Networks (later acquired by Nortel Networks), Madge Networks, PetroCosm, Sitara Networks and World-Wide Packets . His Middle East experience led to the formation of Dubai-based Technology Partners in 1997, a technology consulting and integration company focused on introducing early stage, innovative ICT technologies to the MENA region.
In the summer of 2003, Omar established operations in his native Iraq. Today, Technology Partners has over 40 employees based in Baghdad, Erbil, Sulaimaniya and Basra, and over 80 employees region wide. Headquartered in Dubai, Technology Partners has four business units: Iraq operations (the largest), Utility Smart Grid Technologies, OSS-BSS Service Provider Solutions, and Dynabs ME for Medical and Patient Records Management Systems


Roy Hodges, Vice President Marketing, Technology Partners 

Roy Hodges brings over 25 years experience in the computer industry including positions in product development, sales, marketing and business development.
Roy was one of the first employees of Tropos Networks, the Silicon Valley startup that introduced the concept of municipal wireless networks eight years ago. With over 750 customers in 35 countries, Tropos is the undisputed market leader in this area. Roy takes a major role in the sales, marketing and deployment of municipal wireless infrastructure for TP’s MENA customers.

Originally from England, Roy is a graduate of Birmingham University, England, and has spent the majority of his working life leading and advising startup companies in London and Silicon Valley, California.

 

 Ali Korur, Regional Sales & Marketing Director, Eutelsat

Born in Istanbul, Mr Ali Korur has a graduate degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Birmingham, and has a postgraduate degree in Digital Satellite Communications from the University of Loughborough, England. He has completed Telecommunications Strategy and Marketing Executive Programme at INSEAD Business School, Paris, France.

In October 1985, he joined EUTELSAT to work in the Operations Department until 1993. Subsequently, he held the position of division head of EUTELSAT Digital Public Telephony Network where he developed considerable knowledge of digital satellite technologies. He participated actively in the arrival of satellite television in the Middle East, Central Asia and Turkish markets. In 1991, he was involved in the launch of the first analogue satellite TV channel, and in 1999, in the launch of the first digital platform in Turkey.

He has been the Eutelsat Regional Sales Director for the regions in the Middle East, Caucasia, Central Asia and Turkey since 2002.

 

Karim Kanso, Managing Director-Iraq, TigrisNet

A native Arabic speaker, Karim Kanso has years of global satellite communications experience throughout the Middle East and Africa. Kanso manages all aspects of TigrisNet’s Iraq operations and has overseen TigrisNet’s rapid growth in the Iraqi market. Kanso is a seasoned telecommunications professional who specialises in difficult and dangerous operating environments.

At Interpacket, Kanso managed satellite Internet sales in over 15 countries, working with PTTs, ISPs and multinational corporations. He was also responsible for developing new accounts on the African continent. Kanso was Sales and Marketing Manager for Africa Online (Prodigy, Inc.) in the late 1990s, and was Business Development Manager for Microsoft in the Ivory Coast from 1997-1998. He worked as Duracell’s Area Sales Manager for five years in Morocco.

Besides his native Arabic, Kanso is equally fluent in English and French. He obtained a BS degree in Business Administration from Schiller International University in France.

 

Munaf Sabeeh, Chief Executive Officer, ScopeSky Communications

Munaf Sabeeh, Chief Executive Officer, ScopeSky Communications, is one of the Middle East’s chief senior network engineers. A pioneer in his field, he has been at the forefront of revolutionising Iraq’s IT/Telecom industry by introducing the country’s first nationwide fiber optic network. A member of the Iraq Inventors & Innovators Society, Mr Sabeeh is clinically trained and certified in: MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCSP, CWNA, Canopy, Lunix, RedLine, Unix, WiFi, WiMAX, A+, MikroTik and others.

 

Dejan Nikolin, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Computer Data Networks

Mr Nikolin has been in IT and Communications business since the early 80s, starting as a Systems Engineer designing and implementing communications systems, and handling implementation of the very first LAN in the Middle East in late '83. Since then, Mr Nikolin has been instrumental in bringing latest communications and IT technologies to the Middle East, including implementation of the first routed IP network, first FDDI network, first firewall implementation and so on. Mr Nikolin has both a technical and sales & marketing background and is leading CDN's efforts to bring latest technologies to Iraq. This includes LaSilki, CDN's wireless ISP in the South, CDN's Silki xDSL service also in the South, and other projects in Iraq including the Internet Exchanges and the International Data Gateway".


Martin Jarrold, Chief of International Programme Development,         
Global Vsat Forum (GVF)

Martin Jarrold was appointed GVF Chief of International Programme Development in June 2001. His particular responsibilities include outreach to the member organisations of the GVF and for the further development of the profile of the Forum within the satellite communications industry, and across the global telecommunications policy and regulatory community. This extends to the development and delivery of programmes focused on understanding and promoting the use of satellite-based communications in various key vertical markets.

 He is a frequent contributor to various telecommunications publications, and also frequently chairs and contributes to telecommunications conferences and symposia around the world. Previously, Mr. Jarrold was Commissioning Editor and Head of Research for Space Business International magazine. His earlier career was predominantly in teaching and writing. Mr. Jarrold holds an honours degree in History and Politics.

 

Asaad Y Alnajjar, P.E. President - Chief Strategy Officer, VOEX International

Asaad Alnajjar is Cofounder, President and Chief Strategy Officer of VoEx International with the expanded vision of building technologically advanced IP based telecom product. Dr Alnajjar has been very active in the research and development of information technology and wireless communications throughout North America, Europe and the MENA region representing Iraq’s Private Telecom Sector. His work has included extensive research in Arabic & Multilingual Internet Names and DNS resolution, e164 standards, eNum, and IP based products, telecom standards and applications and the evolution of communications standards and regulations.
Dr Alnajjar is recognised internationally as an innovative and revolutionising force within the communications & telecom industry, his knowledge and opinions on global communications and the future of VOIP & Wireless Mobility have been featured commentary in print and broadcast media. He has created an effective instrumental link in the expeditious delivery of Arabic and international domains, to many cultures that are thriving for it. His initial research work is being carried by the many within ICANN today to finalise standards and deployment. Dr Alnajjar played an active role to resolve important issues related to dispute policies, centralised common WHOIS, trade marks and other legal concerns. Other expertise includes the design and launch of large scale WLL networks and WiFi VoIP communication solution (VoWLAN).

Dr Alnajjar is also founding Member of ABFICT (Arab Business Forum for Information and Communication Technology) including all the Arab GSM providers, Internet Providers, the Arab Ministries of Communications and the Arab League.

 

Phil Tilley, European Marketing Co-Chair, VP European Marketing IP Division, Alcatel-Lucent, MEF

Phil Tilley currently holds the position of Vice President, European Regional Marketing for Alcatel-Lucent’s IP Division. His responsibilities include developing the market awareness of Alcatel-Lucents IP product portfolio, working with service providers to ensure success with their business services portfolio and building the required IP skills within Alcatel-Lucent to support a market leading IP portfolio.
Phil is also the European marketing Co-Chair for the Metro Ethernet Forum where he is working with other vendors and service provider members to increase awareness and adoption of Carrier Ethernet.

Phil has more than 15 years engineering and marketing experience. He has worked closely with many carriers throughout Europe advising on the latest market trends and how these carriers can bring the technologies to market in a user centric manor. He is a regular presenter and chairman in industry conferences.

Phil Tilley joined Newbridge Networks in 1992, prior to its acquisition by Alcatel, starting as an approvals engineer. He subsequently held posts as product specialist, product manager and new carrier sector marketing manager.

Chris Watson, Partner, CMS Cameron McKenna

Chris is partner and head of the telecoms team at CMS Cameron McKenna. Chris focuses his international practice on commercial matters in the communications, media, and technology sectors, particularly in the areas of where competition and regulation overlap and on EU law arising in cross-border and complex telecommunications transactions. He also has extensive experience in other regulated network sectors as well as broad experience on commercial, corporate, and financial matters.

Chris works extensively with clients in the global telecommunications industry and has been named one of the world’s top 6 lawyers in Telecoms in the 2008 4th edition of the ‘Guide to the World’s Leading Technology, Media and Telecommunications Lawyers’. He is Vice Chairman of the Communications Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA).

Chris has a strong interest in the Middle East having lived for a number of years in Iran. Since qualifying, he has worked extensively in the region and has developed a global practice with approximately half of his clients based outside the UK.

 

Stéphane Chenard, Senior Associate Consultant, Euro Consult

Stéphane Chenard was Born in Paris in 1965 and attended the Institute for Political Studies in 1984. He then became Assistant editor of Interavia Space Markets, a Jane's Information Group trade publication, 1988-91, before joining Euroconsult in 1992.

He is currently a Senior Associate Consultant, particularly in charge of the due diligence assessments Euroconsult performs on satellite projects for or in relation with the financial community. Until 2002, also served as editor and principal author of Euroconsult's World Space Market Survey multi-client report series (annual), for which he developed a large part of the forecasting methodology and continues to perform in-depth research on all satellite communication markets, with special emphasis on Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
